"Originally from Ossian, Iowa. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Iowa State University. I have been a professional graphic designer for more than 20 years. My career began at Meredith Corporation in Des Moines as a magazine designer. Years later, after moving to Humboldt, I worked as a designer for Heartland Communications in Fort Dodge. Later I accepted a position as the Art Director of Iowa Outdoors magazine, published by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, where I worked for 11 years before coming to Iowa Central. I also own and operate 2TREES DESIGN, LLC, a graphic design firm. Through 2TREES DESIGN I work with numerous clients on projects ranging from logo design, branding, advertising, apparel, posters, catalogs, magazines, and photography.
When humans gather together and tell each other stories, we love to tell of monsters. We love the creepy crawly and the massively menacing creatures that haunt our dreams and lurk in the woods at night. There is no end to the tales of strange, enigmatic creatures that elude capture or study, but torment those who are said to have witnessed them. These are the creatures my sculptures recreate for your consideration.

I have used several methods over the years to facilitate the visual communication of tales of curious creatures. From masks to puppets, from large installations to bedroom closet doors, and oddity boxes to mounted trophies, there is so much to share.
